An Te Liu explores the space around things. Liu has transformed discarded Styrofoam packing from consumer goods into ceramic sculptures. Using remnants of the contemporary world, Liu conjures forms recalling iconic works of both the ancient and modern periods. Daniel Fobert and Randy Webster of Screen Art enjoyed meeting An Te and working with him and Micah Donovan of the Gardiner Museum, installing the title wall for his exhibition.
