Kaneko unveiling in September at the Gardiner Museum

7/30/2013

From June 30 to September 18, 2011, Jun Kaneko will make its final and only Canadian stop at Toronto’s Gardiner Museum. The highly anticipated exhibit features larger than life ceramic sculptures, some of which are over seven feet high and weigh thousands of pounds.

All of Kaneko’s work is informed by the Japanese concept of “ma:” which suggests that everything has a spirit. Kaneko’s work will be on display at the Gardiner Museum from June 30 - September 18. The exhibition will feature 39 visual masterpieces by the artist including a mix of large and small ceramic sculptures as well as a selection of paintings and drawings.

At Screen Art hope we hope you enjoy this short slideshow of the installation of a wall mural on an octagonal hording hiding a Kaneko scupture to be unveiled in September. For more information please go to www.gardinermuseum.on.ca.
